At Lutjestrand on the Amstelmeer, there is a grassy area specifically for windsurfers and kitesurfers. The Amstelmeer has no tides, currents, or high waves, and there is always a good wind. There is also a windsurfing school at Lutjestrand. The water at the beach is shallow, making it an ideal location to learn windsurfing.
